World Music Day (« La Fête de la Musique » in french) is coming back to Bangkok for its second edition!
On June 20th and 21st, music will be celebrated for free and, for the first time, online!
Originally created in France in 1982, the World Music Day is a worldwide music celebration which takes place each year in June. In 1981, the French Government developed an important project for the music industry and create a big and popular event that allows all musicians to express themselves for free.
This event aims to promote amateur and professional artists and give them an easy access to the public. It is conceived as a « revolution » for the cultural field, which tends to gather all kinds without hierarchy.
Due to COVID situation, the cultural service of the French Embassy in Thailand has created a free online event, in the spirit of the original project : promoting music from everywhere and for all.
During two days, La Fête and Alliance Française will respond to the beat of electro music, pop, french and thai music, DJ sets and live bands.
On June 20th, the movie French Waves will be shown at Alliance Française, following by hours of set with United We Stream Asia, live from Studio Lam Bangkok.
On 21st, La Fête will stream live music (thaï and french) played from the emblematic pool of So/Bangkok.
Both online events will be streamed on Facebook by Premiere.
Music will be streamed on the facebook page La Fête https://www.facebook.com/lafete.festival/
Tickets for French Waves are available on Alliance Française de Bangkok website https://afthailande.org/fr/accueil/
