Rendez-vous en France TRAVEL MARKET 2019

HEADING FOR MARSEILLE & PROVENCE

Following on from Paris last year, it was the turn of the destinations “Provence, Enjoy the Unexpected”, “French Southern Alps”, “Côte d’Azur France” and especially Provence and Marseille to welcome the Rendez-vous en France Travel Market 2019, France’s largest professional tourism fair, organized by Atout France.

This year, the international meeting was benefiting from a close collaboration with the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Regional Tourism Board, Provence Tourism and Marseille Metropolitan Tourist and Convention Bureau.

950 tour operators and journalists from 73 countries and 788 French travel professionals were heading to Marseille and Provence from March 19th-20th, 2019. No less than 25,000 20-minute meetings were scheduled over the course of the 2-days pro-fair, with over 100 additional exhibitors from Provence versus previous years. Prior to the event, the destination’s ambassadors and their travel partners had hosted 26 brand-new fam tours for 350 participants – a record!

March 18th was dedicated to Marseille, with 5 exceptional fam trips unveiling the new tourist attractions of France’s 2nd-largest city.

Rendez-vous en France Travel Market is a fabulous opportunity to better promote and market the destination’s diversity: open to all target clienteles, we offer a plethora of year-round activities, experiences, and preserved scenery, together with easily-accessible facilities including two international airports (Marseille-Provence and Toulon-Hyères), direct TGV high-speed railways services to Europe (and Paris-Provence in just over 2½ hours!) and fluid highway networks for coach travellers.

Provence Alpes Cotes D’Azur have created a catalog featuring the 26 brand-new fam trips as a building tool for travel professionals wishing to schedule the destination.

Set between rolling hills and the Mediterranean Sea, Provence and Marseille have upgraded their offer with a host of new accommodation ranging from Palaces to two-star hotels, boutique hotels, Michelin-starred local gastronomy and bistronomic eateries for all tastes and budgets.

Reputed international events promise a buzzing atmosphere throughout the year, with highlights including the Avignon Festival, Arles International Photography Festival, Aix-en-Provence Opera Festival, Marseille Jazz Festival, Formula 1 Grand Prix in Le Castellet and unprecedented events such as the Gastronomic Year in Provence 2019.
