A global fashion brand promotion project for Korean fashion designers, the “Seoul’s 10 Soul” exhibition, comprising ten internationally acknowledged “Seoul Fashion Week” designers, will help them become truly global “star” designers through some exceptional pop-up store projects in collaboration with a host of world-famous select shops and department stores.
The 10 designers for the 2016 “Seoul’s 10 Soul” project are Kang Dong Jun of D.GNAK, highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally; Han Sang Hyuk of HEICH ES HEICH; Lee Ju Young of RESURRECTION; Lee Suk Tae of KAAL.E.SUKTAE; Kim Moo Hong of MOOHONG; Jung Mi Sun of NOHKE; Choi Moo Yeol of VLADES, a young designer who joined the 2016 F/W Seoul Collection during the Seoul Fashion Week event; and Shin Kyu Yong of BLINDNESS. For six days from June 22 when the men’s wear collection of Paris Fashion Week takes place, the 2016 “Seoul’s 10 Soul”project will run its L’ECLAIREUR pop-up store to showcase Korean fashion in the European market. After the pop-up store event comes to its end, the clothing items of the “Seoul’s 10 Soul” designers will be sold at the L’ECLAIREUR shop until July 10.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Design Foundation invited over 200 guests including many fashion experts, members of the media and VIPs to its evening party to celebrate the opening of “Seoul’s 10 Soul” pop-up store.
The opening party was graced with the presence of many world-famous fashion experts and journalists including Nathalie Cazeaud, executive director of MC2, France; Bosse Myhr, buyer at Selfridges, UK; Richard Johnson at Harvey Nichols; Luke Day, editor of GQ Style, UK; and Anders Madsen, editor of I-D magazine, reflecting the enhanced global status of Korean fashion.
Nathalie Cazeaud, executive director of MC2 showroom who visited Seoul Fashion Week last season, said “As I felt during my visit to Korea, K-fashion is getting advanced day by day. It’s very rare and surprising to see a group of designers from the same country open an exclusive pop-up store at such a world-class fashion shop as L’ECLAIREUR, which gorgeously reflects ever-growing status of Korean fashion. I think K-fashion will lead the global fashion trends sometime soon not just in Korea or Europe.”
Following the Paris pop-up store this season, the Seoul Design Foundation will run its 2016 “Seoul’s 10 Soul” Milan pop-up store next September, when the women’s wear collection of Milan Fashion Week takes place, in collaboration with big-name select shops in Milan, Italy.
